Rowoon leaves SF9

In an unforeseen twist, FNC Entertainment has announced the departure of Rowoon, one of SF9’s prominent members. The shocking news was made public by FNC Entertainment on Monday (September 18) through an official statement, shedding light on Rowoon leaves SF9.

FNC Entertainment stated in their official announcement, “Rowoon will now shift his focus to individual projects, including pursuing acting opportunities.”

Moreover, FNC Entertainment clarified that Rowoon’s exit from SF9 resulted from the group’s contract renewal process. While all other SF9 members have chosen to extend their contracts with the management, Rowoon’s new contract places him outside the scope of SF9.

Below is the complete statement from FNC Entertainment concerning Rowoon

“FNC Entertainment wishes to inform you about SF9’s current developments. The contracts for SF9 came to an end on September 18, 2023, after seven years of active promotion since their debut in 2016. All members have opted to renew their contracts with us; however, SF9 will now embark on a fresh journey with eight members, with Rowoon no longer being part of the group. Rowoon has decided to focus his efforts on individual projects, particularly in the realm of acting. Despite their individual paths, all members remain committed to delivering their best for their fans. We kindly request your ongoing support for both SF9 and Rowoon. Thank you.”

Rowoon: The Multifaceted Actor

Throughout his career, Rowoon has earned recognition as one of SF9’s most active members in the Korean drama scene. His portrayal of various characters in the dramas he has taken on has solidified his reputation as an “acting-dol” (a K-Pop idol who successfully ventures into acting).

Rowoon embarked on his acting journey in 2017 with “School 2017” and has since made a name for himself by starring in dramas such as “About Time” (2018), “Extraordinary You” (2019), “The King’s Affection” (2021), and “Destined With You” (2023).

SF9’s Journey and Member Changes

SF9 made their debut in 2016 with a lineup that included Youngbin, Inseong, Jaeyoon, Dawon, Zuho, Yoo Taeyang, Hwiyoung, Chani, and Rowoon. Despite some members temporarily stepping away from group activities due to personal commitments and mandatory military service, SF9 continued as a nine-member group until Rowoon’s recent departure.

Rowoon’s exit from SF9 signifies a significant change for both the group and himself. SF9’s dedicated fan base will undoubtedly continue to support the group as they embark on a new chapter, while Rowoon’s acting career is expected to thrive further as he focuses on individual projects.
